Assess & Plan

Maintenance &
Reliability Assessment

You can't fix what you can't see. Our assessment gives you a prioritized, benchmarked picture of your operation so improvement starts on solid ground — not guesswork.

Overview

What We Look At, and Why It Matters

The Maintenance & Reliability Assessment is a structured, on-site evaluation of how your maintenance organization actually works — not how the org chart says it works. We sit with planners, walk the floor with technicians, audit work orders, watch a PM get executed, and review the numbers behind the dashboards.

The output isn't a 200-page binder. It's a prioritized list of the changes that will move your KPIs the most, sequenced in an order that's actually executable given your culture, capacity, and constraints.

Scope

Six Domains, Honestly Scored

We evaluate against the same six management domains TPR360 organizes around. Each is scored on a maturity scale and benchmarked against high-performing operations in your industry.

People
Leadership
Strategy clarity, accountability structures, performance management, leadership behaviors, and the cultural conditions that make improvement stick.
People
Workforce
Skills, training pipeline, technician capability, planner/scheduler effectiveness, and how engaged the workforce is in solving its own problems.
Process
Workflow
Work identification, planning, scheduling, execution, and closeout. How proactive vs. reactive the work mix is, and where time actually goes.
Process
Materials
MRO inventory, storeroom operations, kitting, BOMs, procurement, and whether parts are a brake or an accelerator on reliability.
Physical Assets
Equipment
PM program quality, condition monitoring, operator care, defect elimination, and the discipline of caring for assets over their full life.
Physical Assets
Reliability
Failure modes, root cause practice, RCM application, and how systematically the organization eliminates the causes of unplanned downtime.
How It Works

Four Phases, Two to Four Weeks

Phase 1
Pre-Visit Discovery
Document review, KPI snapshot, CMMS data pull, stakeholder interview prep. Most surprises are already visible in the data — we look there first.
Phase 2
On-Site Assessment
Three to five days on the floor. Interviews from the GM to the night-shift technician, planning room observations, PM ride-alongs, storeroom walk-throughs.
Phase 3
Synthesis & Scoring
We score each domain, identify the top opportunities by impact and effort, and benchmark against industry-relevant high-performance baselines.
Phase 4
Findings & Roadmap
A presentation to your leadership team, a written report, and a prioritized improvement roadmap that sequences quick wins ahead of long-cycle work.
